Peren pharmacists celebrate National Pharmacy Week
DIMAPUR — Peren District Pharmacist Association (PDPA) celebrated National Pharmacy Week on the theme “The role of pharmacists in promoting patient health care” on Wednesday at Nkwareu.
Speaking on the occasion, PDPA president Izierang Nza, in his presidential address, highlighted the contribution of pharmacists to healthcare in society and emphasised the importance of pharmacists in patient safety and counselling services, according to a press release.
He also noted that in recent years, with the increase in experience, knowledge, and qualifications, pharmacists have gained recognition from both the public and the department.
He further encouraged the pharmacists to give their best, work with sincerity, and be dedicated to the tasks assigned to them.
Sentila Longchar, district programme officer (DPO), gave a brief speech, commending the pharmacists for their hard work and dedication. She also highlighted their duties and responsibilities, while sharing information about the Nagaland Essential Drug List.
The programme was followed by a group discussion.
