DIMAPUR — A mental health awareness campaign was conducted at Kros College in Kohima on Thursday, engaging students from the first, third, and fifth semesters.

It was organised by Medemer Funds Society in collaboration with Young Minds NE, a Kohima-based mental health organisation. The programme aimed to educate and equip young adults with essential information on mental health and suicide prevention, according to a press release.

The guest speaker for the event was Daewon Nongrem, founder of Young Minds NE and a psychologist with over five years of experience in mental health counselling.

In his speech, Nongrem focused on crucial aspects of mental health, including understanding mental health conditions, recognising the signs and symptoms of someone in crisis, and practical ways to offer support.
