Manipur journalists participate in shooting competition

IMPHAL — A shooting competition was held for Manipur journalists on Sunday at the MRA shooting range in Taothong, Imphal West district.

The event, a first of its kind, was organised by the All Manipur Working Journalists’ Union (AMWJU) in collaboration with the Manipur Rifle Association (MRA), in which over 30 journalists from various media organisations took part in the 25-metre pistol and 50-metre rifle shooting competitions.

MLA Th Arunkumar, accompanied by MFA president M Rachandra and AMWJU president Bijoy Kakchingtabam, inaugurated the competition, while MLA Kh Joykishan, along with Kakchingtabam and social activists Sanjoy Ahanthem and Oinam Romen, attended the closing function of the day-long event.

Onel Sambanduram of Tom TV secured first place in the 25-metre pistol event, while Sh Gautam of Poknapham Daily finished first in the 50-metre rifle competition.
