DIMAPUR — Noklak district police was conferred the Skoch Gold award in police and safety for fighting drugs/ insurgency with education and livelihood. The Skoch Gold award ceremony was held on May 27 in New Delhi.
A DIPR report stated that the award was received by Khumeng, Noklak police personnel, and former Noklak superintendent of police, Dr. Pritpal Kaur Batra, under whose leadership the various life-changing programmes were initiated in the young district on the Indo-Myanmar border.
The award recognises people, projects, and institutions that go an extra mile to make India a better nation. It is considered the highest civilian honour in the country conferred by an independent organisation.
