Dimapur, Dec. 22 (EMN): Implementing Support Agency (ISA) of PHED Tuensang division, Alongphi Welfare Society, conducted a one-day block-level workshop on Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) for village functionaries and FTK users for Shamator block on December 15.
A DIPR report stated that the ongoing Jal Jeevan Mission awareness was organised on the theme ‘Source water conservation and its sustainability in rural areas.’
It stated that pre-implementing villages (yet to start JJM), implementing villages (ongoing) and post-implementing villages (completed villages) from Shamator block, participated in the workshop.
Lanu from PHED Tuensang spoke on community participation in JJM and source sustainability during the training, while Changkiuba, ISA field executive, dwelled on the main theme of the workshop–how villagers need to start conservation of sources through preservation of forests and Jhum cultivation practices in the source areas.
He also highlighted maintenance and safe drinking water quality, regular checking of water quality through field testing kits (FTK).
The trainees were WATSAN committee/village council members, the report stated.
