Women societies destroy seized liquor in Kisama

Dimapur, Feb. 6 (EMN): Women societies of Phesama and Kigwema villages destroyed huge quantity of seized Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and other banned substances at the Naga Heritage Village, Kisama, on February 5 in the presence of Ruopfukuotuo Noudi, SDO (C) of Jakhama; Neisakuolie Mera, head GB of Kigwema village, and hosts of village elders.

On behalf of Jakhama circle administration, Ruopfukuotuo expressed gratitude to the organisers for their initiatives against such unwanted social elements taking place in the area and assured continued support of their good works, a joint press release from the two societies stated.

Zasibeino Tacu, advisor of Phesama Women Society (PWS), highlighted the stand and activities of Kigwema and Phesama against sale of IMFL and illegal activities particularly at Kisama. She added that the joint venture of students, youths and women would be a continued process even in the days to come.

It informed that the present issue was endorsed to the department of Tourism for necessary action including cancellation of permit/ allotment.

Also speaking on the occasion, Khriesino Rita, president of Southern Angami Women Organisation (Sawo), recounted some bitter memories at Naga Heritage Village in the past. She also lauded the efforts undertaken by the two neighboring villages to curb anti-social activities in the area.

Among other dignitaries, Beizo M Kuotsu, chairman of Phesama village council, and Balie Kere, chairman of Kigwema village council, also attended the programme.
