CNCCI lauds govt. for banning ULBs from collecting taxes
Dimapur, Nov. 17 (EMN): The Confederation of Nagaland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CNCCI) has lauded the state government for prohibiting the Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) from collecting taxes under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime.
The federation stated that the move will help the business community and benefit the consumers as well.
The business body also directed all the 12 district chamber of commerce and industry in the state to make sure that ban on tax is reflected on the market. It stated that “immediate steps should be taken to ensure that the consumers benefit from the ban of tax and collection from GST items”.
It went on to thank Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton, Advisor of Urban Development Dr. Nicky Kire and other officials.
The department of Municipal Affairs on Tuesday directed all the municipal and town councils across Nagaland to immediately stop collection of any kind of taxes/fees on items that come under the GST regime.
