Nagaland records 54 new Covid-19 cases; 42k in India

Dimapur, Sep. 5 (EMN): Nagaland reported 54 new Covid-19 positive cases on Sunday, taking the active tally to 736 and state tally to 30356.
According to data provided by the department of Health and Family Welfare, Mon reported 15 cases, Kohima 13 cases, Dimapur 11 cases, Phek six, Mokokchung five, Wokha three and Zunheboto one.
It said that the state also reported 66 recoveries in the last 24 hours, out of which 20 were from Mokokchung, 15 each from Dimapur and Wokha, 10 from Kohima, four from Kiphire and two from Mon.
The death toll stands at 612, while no deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.
India reports 42k cases
India reported 42,766 new Covid-19 cases and 308 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to data from the Union Health Ministry. It said that the active caseload had risen to 4,10,048.
Meanwhile, the recovery of 38,091 patients in the last 24 hours increased the cumulative tally of recovered patients to 3,21,38,092.
It stated that with the administration of 71,61,760 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage surpassed the cumulative figure of 68.46 crore (68,46,69,521).
