Dimapur, June 13 (EMN): To take stock of the Covid-19 situation, advisor of Tourism and Art and Culture, H Khehovi Yeputhomi, visited Suruhuto town on June 10 and held a meeting with members of healthcare and management committee (HCMC) headed by Dr. Kuzonyi Wideo, SDO (C) Suruhuto, senior citizens, church leaders, STSU, MO and the PHC staff.
During the meeting, the advisor appealed to the citizens of Suruhuto to be more vigilant and cautious of their own health and advised them to call upon God’s wisdom and interventions as they battle with the Covid pandemic, a DIPR report stated.
It stated that the advisor was dissatisfied with the irresponsible attitude and behaviour of the public for not following the governments laid down SOPs despite the rising number of Covid cases in the town. In this regard, Khehovi requested the public to be more responsible by educating one another and follow the Covid laid down norms.
While assuring to start the renovation of PHC buildings at the earliest, he entrusted HCMC to oversee the works. He also thanked all the frontline workers for their selfless sacrifices and also sought the public cooperation until the Covid war is won.
The advisor also donated two oxygen concentrators, one SD generator and medicines worth INR 2.5 lacs. Besides, he also donated a cash of INR1.5 lakh towards HCMC for any unexpected emergencies.
In a related programme, advisor Kazheto Kinimi toured 31 Akuluto assembly constituencies and conducted a review meeting with the Akuluto sub-divisional task force (SDTF).
During the tour, the advisor interacted with healthcare officials and inspected healthcare centres under 31 Akuluto AC. Also highlighting the various initiatives undertaken by the government, he stated that the government is doing its best to tackle and contain the spread of Covid-19 in the state, an update from PRO to the advisor said.
The advisor has expressed satisfaction on the management and preparedness of the SDTF led by its chairman and ADC, administration, doctors, healthcare workers, frontline workers, police, churches, civil societies and all others involved. The advisor also sought continued cooperation of the public in observing Covid appropriate behaviours and do’s and don’ts of Covid-19.
The advisor also donated rice for distribution to 31 Akuluto assembly constituencies. He also handed over masks, hand sanitizers and financial assistance to SDTF in combating the second wave of Covid-19.
