Dimapur, April 12 (EMN): The 13th Khiamniungan Menyiu Hoikam (KMH) executive meeting cum mushroom training was held at KMH treasurer’s residence, Noklak on April 7.
Deputy Commissioner of Noklak, Reny Wilfred, encouraged the gathering to take up various livelihood projects to help themselves and for the society grow, a DIPR update stated. He also shared about the plans and programmes initiated by the district for promotion of women.
SDO (C) Noklak, C Phuniang stated that “KMH should continue to come forward and actively participate in peace making and decision making of the tribe in particular and the society at large.”
It said that he reminded to “remain extra vigilant and foresee the fast social and other development that is going to come particularly in the wake of Noklak upgradation to a full-fledged district so as to maintain the dignity of the society.”
He encouraged the gathering not to take any “hasty decisions but to have a rational approach”.
The meeting was followed by training on mushroom farming under the initiative of district administration of Noklak and KMH.
More than 100 women attended the mushroom training from village level units under Noklak district.
President KMH, Newkhai further acknowledged the vehicle purchasing committee members comprising CDPO, Noksen, Anti; JAA Tuensang, Penie; JSO, Civil Secretariat, Ngamlih; BDO Noksen, Shongmao; AE CAWD Tuensang, Elo and NPSC Member, S Chonta for arrangement of funds to purchase “the much needed” vehicle of the organisation.
