Dimapur, Jan. 13 (EMN): Minister of Agriculture and Co-operation, G Kaito Aye, exhorted the students to trust on oneself and be self-dependent without expecting goods from others at all time saying, “It is better to have something small you earned than bigger things given to you by others.”
Aye stated this while addressing the golden jubilee celebration of Satakha Range Students’ Union (SRSU) at Satakha town on January 13, a DIPR report stated on Wednesday. While appreciating the growth and achievements of SRSU in the last 50 years, he challenged the students to aim for bigger and greater heights at the next jubilee celebration.
The minister also expressed his vision for upgradation of PHC at Satakha to a thirty-bedded hospital at the earliest. He also appealed to the people of Satakha to always cultivate a culture of a united society and be strong in the eyes of others.
Aye concluded by saying that a student’s job is to educate oneself sincerely, while the job of leaders and representatives is to support them in all possible ways.
“You do your job and we’ll do our job,” Aye added.
Aye also unveiled the golden jubilee monolith in the presence of the deputy commissioner, Peter Lichamo, government officials, public and student leaders.
The dedicatory prayer for the monolith was pronounced by STBC pastor, Rev. Kughato K Chophi.
The inaugural programme was chaired by Olivika M Zhimo, while the invocation was said by UBC pastor Rev. Honito K Chophi and the presidential address was delivered by Anoka H Zhimo.
Presentation of cultural dance (Aphilo kuwo) by Shoipu village, ‘Aye küzü le’ by Xüivi village and various other competitions marked the celebration.
