Sameti conducts training on organic farming techniques

Dimapur, Dec. 11 (EMN): State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (Sameti) organised a two-day online training programme on “Organic Farming Techniques and Organic Certification” for ATMA functionaries on December 10 and the 11th with an aim to provide technical knowledge to the extension functionaries about techniques involved in such farming and various certifications.

Dr. Moasunep, Agriculture Inspector, Bio- Control Laboratory, Medziphema and Vikaho Chophi, Deputy Project Director, Sameti, Medziphema were the resource persons of the training programme, informed an update from Sameti.

The topics covered during the online training were: Introduction to organic farming and step by step conversion to organic farming techniques; Organic crop management techniques; Pest and disease management in organic agriculture; and Organic food and certification.

Naga Organic App was also highlighted to the participants during the programme which attended by 21 ATMA functionaries from all the districts of the state. E-Certificates were also issued to the participants.
