Muivah and Hutovi mourn demise

Dimapur, Nov. 19 (EMN): NSCN (IM) general secretary Th. Muivah and the convenor of steering committee Maj. (Retd.) Hutovi Chishi have mourned the demise of steering committee executive member Wunganing Shimray, who passed away on November 17 after prolonged illness.

Muivah lamented that the nation has lost a great and sincere leader in the death of Shimray leaving a vacuum that would be hard to fill. He has described Shimray as one of the committed national workers who had served the nation in the most trying and testing time of the national struggle giving his best efforts as a true worker and a leader. He added that in all situations and circumstances, Shimray had put nation first and fought the good fight in his capacity.

Muivah also stated that the sacrificial contributions rendered by Shimray for the cause of nation in different capacities and responsibilities would ever be cherished by the nation.

He has further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed to God Almighty to console, comfort and sustain them mentally and physically in their hour of pain and sorrow and also to grant eternal peace to the departed soul.

In a similar statement Maj. (Retd.) Hutovi Chishi has described Shimray as a man of courage and determination with high dreams for the Naga nation adding his life was a reflection of commitment and dedication.

He stated Shimray had given his best for the Naga people by leading from the front and lamented that the vacuum created would be difficult to fill.

Chishi has further conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
