Dimapur, July 27 (EMN): The Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research (CIHSR) in Dimapur has refuted rumours that the healthcare facility has been sealed after a patient was tested positive for Covid-19. The hospital management has issued a clarification stating that the RT-PCR test is still awaited and depending on the result, the decision to transfer the patient to Covid-19 hospital will be taken.

The CIHSR management clarified that a patient with viral pneumonia as well as diabetes and hypertension was admitted to the isolation ward of the facility at around 6.30 pm on July 24 and his preliminary test report for Covid was negative.

“A repeat TrueNat test was done on July 25 which reported positive and for confirmation sample was sent for RT-PCR test to BSL-3 laboratory in Kohima on the same day,” the management stated.

A source from CIHSR confirmed that the result is still awaited and that the hospital isn’t completely sealed, contrary to information being circulated on social media platforms.

In compliance with the guidelines issued for non-Covid hospitals by the Health and Family Welfare department, the CIHSR had taken measures via temporary closure and relocation of emergency service to carry out precautionary sanitisation on July 26 and it will reopen on July 28, it was informed.

The makeshift emergency service was relocated to the old OPD area and contact listing has been completed and quarantined, it maintained.

The other non-affected services like OPD, in-patient services, haemodialysis, chemo-radiation, to name a few, will continue till further notice, it informed.
