Dimapur Government College inks MoU for skill development training

Dimapur, Aug. 9 (EMN): Dimapur Government College (DGC) and Emporium Skill Training Institute (ESTI) signed MoU for introducing government sponsored skill development training and recruitment opportunities in the aviation, hospitality and international cruise-line sectors for the students of the college.

Kavili Jakhalu, college principal, and Anirban Mukherjee, Operations Manager of ESTI, signed the MoU.

With the signing of the MoU, DGC and ESTI would jointly screen/ select aspiring candidates from students currently studying in the college and alumni of the college. The programme is also opened to anyone residing in Nagaland having a valid Aadhaar card.

The selected candidates would be given free of cost skill development training in the mentioned sectors along with employment opportunities in world-class global international luxury premium five star hotels, airlines and cruises. The training would be conducted under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna (PMKVY2.0), which is a flagship scheme of the Government of India. ESTI would open a PMKVY Skill Training Centre in the college premises.

The partnership is an important step towards eradicating the unemployment problem in the State and to empower the youth of Nagaland by making them employable. ESTI would be joining hands with various colleges across Nagaland within the year. The institute has already collaborated with more than 167 colleges across India.

Emporium Training and Consultancy Pvt Ltd (ETCPL) is a vocational training institution registered under the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Tourism and Hospitality Sector Skill Council, Government of India.

The setting up of ETCPL in 200 was triggered by the increasing demand of skilled manpower for jobs created in various sectors like hospitality, aviation, cruise-lines etc. From being a pilot programme offered for the hospitality sector, it is one of India’s largest vocational training company with a goal to train 2 million people by 2022 through a network of 100 + institutes of skills across India, state/ central government projects etc.

ESTI is an empanelled training partner of the Department of Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of Nagaland. The institution is also registered under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, National Skill Development Corporation, Government of India.
