Manipur govt. launches ‘Go to Village’ mission

Imphal, Sep. 18 (EMN): Manipur government on Tuesday Sep. 18 launched ‘Go to Village (GTV),’ a mission which aims to address the grievances of the villagers, at various places of in Manipur on Tuesday Sep. 18.
Speaking at the programme in Kakching Khunou, the chief minister of Manipur, N Biren Singh announced to construct water supply project at an estimated cost of INR9.12 crore, to provide drinking water to the people of the district.

Highlighting aims and objectives of GTV, he said the mission had so far covered around 1550 localities out of 2660 census villages of the state.
Informing that other states had started adopting the idea of the mission, he added the remaining villages/localities would be covered by March 2019.

Minister for CAF and PD Karam Shyam insisted the elected representatives of local bodies and local club volunteers to take proactive role in making the mission a success.

Minister for Forest and Environment Th Shyamkumar said that the new state government has been able to bring the government schemes and services at the doorstep of the common people with the introduction of the mission.

At Ukhongsang under Thoubal district, the minister for Education Radheshyam, inspected the GTV camps and provided health cards, forms for old age pension, widow pension, school kits for students, free health check-up, Aadhaar enrolments, applications for birth certificate, death certificate, residential certificate, voter IDs and others to beneficiaries.

Similarly, the camps were also conducted at two more places under Thoubal district.
Keirap Aimol Govt. High School campus, JC Ramthanga, principal secretary (Cooperation & Commissioner, Departmental Enquiry) and nodal officer of GTV mission for Churachandpur and Pherzawl districts, said that the mission’s primary goal is to deliver services to the people and urged the public to give maximum co-operation.
