NSUB annual sports meet concludes

Dimapur, Oct. 28 (EMN): The Naga Students’ Union Bangalore (NSUB) annual sports meet, 2017 concluded on Saturday, Oct. 28. The event took off with a glittering inaugural ceremony with a prayer by Rev. Khayaipam Khamrang, TBCB pastor on Friday, Oct. 27.
NSUB President Nuthipru Nienu welcomed the gathering and limber up the value of the event, “The important/intentions of the event is to promote unity, togetherness and oneness.” he said. NSUB sports secretary, Dominic Khansu, declared the rules and regulations for the event, followed by hoisting of the flag by Nungsangmongla Ozukum, NSUB VP. Representatives from 13 tribes submitted their flags and Dominic Khansu, NSUB sports secretary administered the oath.
The two day event was held in Kristu Jyoti College’s ground, T.C Palya. About 600 participants from 13 tribes competed in different games of football, volley ball, basketball, tug of war, 100 and 200m race, relay race, push-ups and arm wrestling. Tangkhul tribe emerged as the overall champions for two consecutive years and they won the champion’s cup permanently.
