Registration open till Nov. 1 for interested musicians
The 9th phase of multi media campaign initiated by the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) under National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India is underway on the theme “Know your HIV status. Get tested and treated.”
An update issued on Oct. 17 informed that the campaign is being organised annually since 2009 with the objective to capitalise on the popularity of music among the youth and draw the attention of young people and spread HIV awareness in the state through music.
The campaign aims to promote awareness to people that effective prevention for HIV/AIDS is possible and to educate the general populace that compassion and support should be given to those infected or affected by HIV/AIDS to live a life without stigma and discrimination.
Entries for the competition is said to be open till Nov. 1.
The genre should be Indie rock and there will be three zones for selection to the district audition Dimapur (Dimapur, Peren, Mon), Kohima (Kohima, Wokha, Phek, Kiphire) and Mokokchung (Mokokchung, Zunheboto, Tuensang, Longleng), the release informed.
Interested bands can submit entries to their respective zonal districts. For the entries, each bands should send an audio format demo copy of their original song based on HIV/AIDS or Drug Abused, the band’s photographs, bio-data, lyrics sheet and contact details which can be submitted to nsacsmmcdmp@gmail.com for Dimapur zone for Kohima zone nsacsmmckma@gmail.com and for Mokokchung zone nsacsmmcmok@gmail.com or couriered/hand delivered to the office of districts AIDS prevention and control unit (DAPCU) or contact at Kohima +91 9856890583, Dimapur 7005293955, Mokokchung 7005408371.
The selected bands will be provided with honorarium to meet their travel expenses food and accommodation on requirement for participation at the district level audition. After screening of entries, the selected bands will be called for the district auditions on Nov. 15 while the interaction to the selected bands will be done through the contact details provided.
Two bands will be selected from each zonal districts and they will compete at the state level which will be held on Nov. 26 and the winner of the competition will represent the state during the 2nd Northeast Multiple Media campaign scheduled to be held at Imphal in Manipur on Dec. 18.
