9th Kohima Town Assembly Constituency sports meet of NDPP enters day-two

Kohima, Feb. 23 (EMN): The 9th Kohima Town Assembly Constituency sports meet of NDPP entered day-two on Wednesday at D-khel ground, Seikhazou in Kohima village.

In volleyball, Ward-19 defeated Ward-12, while Ward-16 beat Ward-14 in the first and second match respectively. In the third match, Ward-14 beat Ward-4 and Ward-6 overpowered Ward-15 in the fourth match.

In football Ward-17 defeated Ward-6 by 3 – 1, while Ward-19 narrowly beat Ward-15 (A) 2 – 1 in the first and second match. Ward-14 trounced Ward-17 (A) with a margin of 11 – 1 in the third match, while Ward-16 (A) hammered Ward-18 with the score line 8 – 1 in the fourth match.

In the last match of the day, Ward-14 overpowered Ward-15 by 5 – 1 to claim victory.

On Thursday, in volleyball, the first semi-final match between Ward-19 and Ward-6 will be played at 11 am, while Ward-16 and Ward-4 will play against each other in the second semi-final match at 1 pm.

The quarter-finals for football will commence from 9 am onwards.
