  • DIMAPUR — Maova Youth & Students, Khaibung Youth & Students, Nissi FC and Medziphema Village Youth Organisation all won their respective matches at the ongoing 9th edition of the Frolic Cup, held at Medziphema local ground on Monday.

  • In the first match between IETC Warriors and Maova Youth & Students (MYS), the first half failed to produce any goal from both sides. The second half saw both the teams stepping up their attacks, with Lamkhogin scoring the first goal for MYS in the 46th minute. Barely 11 minutes later, Sedevituo scored the equaliser for the Warriors in the 57th minute.

  • After regulation time ended in a 1-1 deadlock, the match proceeded to a tiebreaker, where MYS won 3-0.

  • In the second match, Khaibung Youth & Students (KYS) demolished Shaktiman FC 5-0. KYS dominated the match from the first whistle with better ball control and possession. The first half saw Arap opening the goal for KYS in the 15th minute followed by Patinsat in the 18th minute and Mangkhohao in the 19th minute.

  • Ngaminlun added the fourth goal in the 30th minute. In the second half, Rato scored the fifth goal in the 51st minute.

  • The match between SFS Football Academy Juniors and Nissi FC witnessed discipline and skills from both teams. The first goal came in the second half when Sese found the net in the 43rd minute for the Nissi FC.

  • The lead was further cemented by Chongsen in the 67th minute.

  • The final match of the day, between Medziphema Village Youth Organisation (MVYO) and Simlai FC, was a thriller, with both teams displaying counter-attacks and strong midfield control.

  • MVYO took the lead in the 12th minute through Nisede Peseyie's boots. However, Simlai's Languimang equalised in the 25th minute with a powerful long-range shot from outside the box. MVYO's Thejaseto Gwirie scored the winning goal in the 69th minute, catching the rival goalkeeper off guard.
