DIMAPUR — A total of 94 projects under the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER) are currently under implementation in Nagaland at various stages of physical progress, according to the ministry’s latest status report updated as of November 2025.
Scheme-wise data show that projects under the North Eastern Council (NEC) account for the highest number, with 52 ongoing works, followed by the North East Special Infrastructure Development Scheme – Other Than Roads Infrastructure (NESIDS-OTRI) with 23 projects. The remaining projects are spread across NESIDS (Roads) and PM-DevINE.
District-wise distribution indicates that Kohima has the highest number of ongoing projects at 30. Dimapur follows with 12 projects, while Peren has 11. Other districts have between one and nine projects each. (See table)
In terms of physical progress, the report stated that 22 projects worth INR 241.37 crore have achieved 100% physical completion, while 13 projects are yet to record any physical progress.
On the financial side, the ministry noted that of the 22 projects that have achieved full physical completion, 11 have also attained 100% financial progress.

Projects that have achieved both 100% physical and financial progress include the construction of an auditorium and basic amenities at Government High School, Phek, sanctioned at INR 1.92 crore on March 31, 2023, and the construction of a government high school auditorium-cum-multi-utility hall at Longsa in Mokokchung district, sanctioned at INR 2.94 crore on June 13, 2014.
Infrastructure development works for newly upgraded government higher secondary schools in Meluri, Phek district, and Medziphema in Dimapur district, sanctioned at a combined cost of INR 4.01 crore on July 21, 2016, were also reported as completed. These projects fall under the education sector.
Under the agriculture and allied sector, the establishment of a modern dairy cattle project at the SASRD, Medziphema campus of Nagaland University, sanctioned at INR 13.44 crore on February 28, 2017, and table fish production in Kohima district, sanctioned at INR 4.94 crore on March 26, 2022, have both achieved full physical and financial progress.
Completed projects under the industries sector include training of 1,100 technicians per district in the construction sector in Kohima, sanctioned at INR 1.24 crore on September 29, 2020; establishment of ginger processing units with a capacity of 1,000 kg in all 11 districts through CBOs, entrepreneurs and cooperatives, sanctioned at INR 1.96 crore on February 26, 2021; and skill training programmes on machinery operation, processing, business management, and maintenance and repair of tools and machinery, each sanctioned at INR 1.98 crore on September 29, 2020.
In the science and technology sector, afforestation of denuded hills in Peren and Phek districts, sanctioned at INR 3 crore each on March 27, 2023, has also been reported as fully completed.
All the projects that have achieved both 100% physical and financial progress fall under the NEC scheme, with a combined cost of INR 26.97 crore, the report stated.
