9-year-old raped and murdered

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 16

A nine-year-old girl was brutally raped and murdered on September 14 last at Amaluma village in Dhansiripar, Dimapur. The victim was student of Government Middle School, Amaluma. According to the Amaluma Village Council, she was raped by one Pintu Hasam of Haklik village which falls under Nagaon district of Assam. The village council along with the teachers and the students of the school has condemned the heinous crime.
It has demanded “the severest of punishment (to the rapist) so as not to recur this crime of highest order in the future.”
Meanwhile, Dimapur Police investigating the case confirmed that the accused involved in the crime as Pintu Hasam (22), son of Runil Hasam of Lanka, Assam who was arrested the same night. The accused is reportedly a cadre of Hill State United Liberation Front (HSULF), a militant outfit operating in Assam. The accused has admitted to raping the victim and murdering her by strangulating her. A case has been registered and investigation is in progress.

Dimasa orgs condemn

The Dimasa Public Organization and Dimasa Women Welfare Society, Nagaland strongly condemned the gruesome rape and murder of the minor Remi Phonglosa, daughter of Abuldao Phonglosa, at Amaluma village on September 14 by one Bindu Hasham hailing from Assam and working as a truck driver.
The beastly act so perpetrated to the child is beyond human tolerance. In the event of any person trying to bail out the accused under any circumstances shall be held responsible for any untoward incident that might occur, a press release from the president of the DPON and DWWS, Nagaland said. The release also cautioned the law enforcing authority not to grant bail to the rapist. Befitting the severity of the case, the law enforcing authority should award death sentence to the culprit without delay, they demanded. The organizations have also offered their deepest condolences to the bereaved family.
