DIMAPUR — The Rongmei Baptist Men Fellowship, the men’s department of the Rongmei Baptist Church Association Nagaland (RBCAN), commenced its 8th edition of the Gospel Sports Meet on Thursday at Rongmei Baptist Church, Mhainamtsi, Peren.

Themed “Exhibit Christ in life,” the opening ceremony was attended by Rev. Mathiuthai Gonmei, the executive secretary of RBCAN as the special guest, according to a press release.

Speaking on the occasion, Gonmei lauded the department for providing a platform for men to showcase their God-given talents and skills and use them for God’s glory. He encouraged the attendees to be responsible leaders in their families, churches, society, and nation.

He appealed to the gathering to recognise their own identity and to uphold and value their culture and traditions. He reminded them of the importance of being exemplary role models in both faith and actions for society.

The meet will feature a variety of sports events, including football, volleyball, track events, arm wrestling, and more. Additionally, there will be literary and singing events such as the Bible quiz competition, choral competition, and solo competition.

The sports meet will conclude on February 24.
