8th Faith in Action inter-school taekwondo championship concludes
DIMAPUR — Faith in Action Martial Arts Academy organised its 8th Faith in Action Inter-school Taekwondo Championship 2024 under India Taekwondo on November 9 at St. Stephen’s Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, with 14 schools participating, each bringing their dedication, skill and passion to the arena.
According to an update, Khevishe Sema, president of North East Pencak Silat Federation and Nagaland Pencak Silat Association attended the tournament as the special guest.
In his speech, he encouraged the young taekwondo athletes on the importance of sports and how one can look forward to a display of discipline, skills and sportsmanship that embodies the value of martial arts.
From exciting sparring matches to synchronised Poomsae displays, the overall championship trophy was won by Faith in Action Headquarter, Immanuel Hall with 16 gold, 11 silver and one bronze medal. The first runners-up trophy with 14 gold, eight silver and one bronze medal went to Polestar School and the second runners-up trophy was won by Little Star Higher Secondary School with 10 gold, eight silver and 10 bronze medals.
The annual championship also awarded some of the elite players from every category who showcased their athletic excellence with the best fighter trophies and as follows:
•Pee-Wee Girls Category – Ikuku T Chishi, FIA-Immanuel Hall.
•Pee-Wee Boys Category – Kilivito Achumi, Paramount Educare School.
•Super-Cadet Girls Category – Yangertula, Westside School.
• Super-Cadet Boys Category – Lamgunhao Lotjem, Immanuel Hall.
• Cadet Girls Category- Holuholi, Grace Academy.
• Cadet Boys Category- Mughape Aye, Manic Academy.
• Sub-Junior Girls Category- Sanglila Chang, Polestar School.
• Sub-Junior Boys Category- Aman Prasad Gupta, St. Mary’s Hr. Sec. School.
• Junior Girls Category- Ilomi Kiho Swu, Polestar School.
• Junior Boys Category – A Vipu Assumi, Little Star Hr. Sec. School.
• Senior Boys Category- Pulovi Zhimo, Immanuel Hall.
The closing remark was addressed by Dr. Francis Anal, principal of St. Stephen’s Higher Secondary School, who expressed gratitude to everyone who made the championship a resounding success.
Additionally, he extended his support and how privileged it was for the school to host a tournament under the Guinness World Record holders team and applauded the organising members for their hard work and commitment to upholding the highest standards of competition.
