875 samples sent for testing

Dimapur, May 11 (EMN): Out of the total 875 suspected Covid-19 samples sent for testing from Nagaland, 848 have retuned negative and the remaining 27 await confirmation.

Home Commissioner Abhjit Sinha informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a video conference with all chief ministers on Monday, during which the chief minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio, briefed the former on the steps taken by the state government; the measures taken for alleviating the distress of Nagaland citizens stranded outside as well as the migrant workers inside the state; the ongoing inter-district movement of stranded people; and also the modalities being put in place for the stranded citizens desiring to come back to Nagaland.

Rio for allowing only movement of special trains, and keeping on hold resumption of regular passenger train and air services for some more time.

The chief minister also had a meeting with the representatives of NBCC, Joint Christian Forum, and APO, AWO, AYO and ASU in Kohima.

“The matter relating to burial of the body in the event of someone dying unfortunately because of Covid-19; in the village or church burial grounds without any discrimination, after observing all the laid down precautions was also deliberated upon,” Sinha informed.
