Dimapur, May 10 (EMN): Out of the 862 samples sent for suspected Covid-19 testing so far from Nagaland, 806 have returned negative, according to an official update on Sunday.
Home Commissioner Abhijit Sinha informed that results for the remaining 58 samples are awaited.
Currently, there are 100 persons under facility quarantine in the state, while 7565 persons have undergone screening, he informed.
“In connection to the dedicated Nagaland Covid-19 toll free helpline number 1800- 345-0019, as of 4 pm on May 9, a total of 193 calls have been received, out of which 46 calls were related to telemedicine consultation,” Sinha said.
The Home Commissioner further informed that a total of 7,409 persons stranded in Nagaland have reached their respective home districts during the travel window relaxed from May 7 to the 9th.
He added that 281 buses were pressed into service during the statewide exercise.
“The state government has decided to further extend the date for inter-district movement of stranded persons from May 11 to the 13th with the condition that preference will be given to those stranded persons who have registered themselves up to May 8 at the facilitation centres. Further, any stranded person wishing to travel in a vehicle at his or her own arrangement and cost, are also allowed during the above relaxation period after getting permit from the respective DC,” he said.
The citizens of Nagaland stranded in different parts of the country who are desirous of returning to the state have started applying through the returnees’ declaration form on the website iamstranded.nagaland.gov.in and as at 4 pm on Sunday, more than 15,500 have applied and have requested government arrangement for transportation, the home commissioner informed.
