83rd Kigwema Youth Organisation annual sports meet concludes
Dimapur, Jan. 14 (EMN): The 83rd annual sports meet of the Kigwema Youth Organisation (KYO) was held at Kigwema ground, Kholera on January 13.
Advisor of Technical Education and Election Medo Yhokha, who was the guest speaker at the inaugural programme, encouraged the youths not to be mere participants in the event but cultivate the zeal and strive for excellence in the field of sports to represent the village, region and the state.
He also encouraged them to have goals in life in all fields especially sports as it will not only bring laurels to the society but gain further opportunities, an update stated.
Stating that the present government is prioritising sports for the youths, Yhokha called upon all to develop their passion by utilising the available resources.
The programme was chaired by KYO finance secretary Teisovi Thorie while KYO president Zakievilie Yhoshü delivered the welcome address. The day-long event included competitions in men’s and women’s volleyball and men’s belt wrestling. Earlier, KYO games and sports secretary Aneilie Phira administered the oath to the participating sportspersons.
