Dimapur, Nov. 25 (EMN): The 7th Mile Model village has claimed of unwarranted activities carried out allegedly by Makri group of Viswema village along with some national workers within the village.
A joint statement from the council chairman Imkong Tzudir and the Head GB Zasizhalie Tacu alleged that a 'group of persons superseding Covid-19 SOPs entered the village area on November 24 at around 12 noon and planted cemented posts and also dismantled the fencing of a plot belonging to Pelhou Angami, while the villagers were busy away in their works.'
The statement claimed that none of the members of Makri party of Viswema village had settled in the village since the inception of the village during 1948 – 1951 adding that none of their names are in the electoral roll.
"The matter in question already went through two verdicts of the Court of National Tribunal (CNT), Government of People’s Republic of Nagalim (GPRN) vide judgement order No. NT/GPRN/J-ORD/117/05 dated July 1, 2005, and also the court of the National Judiciary Board (NJB), GPRN vide judgement and order No. Memo 02-24/VRDT/NJB/2013 dated January 16, 2014," it read.
It added that the two courts had given judgement in their favour.
Contrary to the already two judgements, it stated that a new verdict dated May 3, 2018, was signed by the then GPRN vice president Gen. (Retd) Kholi Konyak. However, they were assured for 'review of the same as the judgement was not given in full knowledge of the facts and figures.'
"The assurance was given to the village delegation when they met them inDelhi on June 2, 2018, by Gen. (Retd) Kholi Konyak and ato kilonser Th Muivah,' it said.
Subsequently, it stated that decision was taken by the collective leadership and senior leaders during November – December 2018 before the demise of Gen. (Retd) Kholi Konyak to handover the matter to the civil society organisations while nullifying the verdicts already given in the aforementioned case. It added that the matter was in full knowledge of the office of ato kilonser and yaruiwo including all the collective leaders of the Government of People’s Republic of Nagalim (GPRN).
While anticipating the rightful authority to take up the matter at the earliest, the council requested all parties concerned not to supersede and violate others’ rights and spaces in order to avoid any untoward incident, it added.
