78% turn out in KAAC election; few places detected D-voters

Diphu, June 18 (EMN): General poll of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) 2017 was held on Saturday in the 26 Member of Autonomous Council (MAC) constituencies of both West and East Karbi Anglong District. Under Hamren sub-division, constituency wise poll percentages turn out are: No.1 MAC constituency Duar amla- 76.63%, No.2 MAC constituency Amri -79.78%, No.3 MAC constituency Chinthong -77.37%, No.4 MAC constituency Socheng -77.47%, No.5 MAC constituency Rongkhang -79.59%, No.6 MAC constituency Bithung-Rengthama -81.55%, No.7 MAC constituency Kopili -77.41%, No.8 MAC constituency Hamren -78.92% No.9 MAC constituency Amreng -71.22% 77.21% of overall poll percentage turns out in west Karbi Anglong District (Hamren sub-division).   Under Diphu sub-division, the total turn out poll percentage is 77.42. Accordingly constituency poll percentages are: No.10 MAC constituency Howraghat -79%, No.11 MAC constituency   Langfer- 78%, No.12  MAC constituency  Phuloni -81%, No.13  MAC constituency  Langhin 81%, No.14  MAC constituency Korkanthi -79%, No.15  MAC constituency  Mahamaya -82%, No.16  MAC constituency  Nomati -82%, No.18 MAC constituency Lumbajong -68%, No.19 MAC constituency  Dhansiri -78%, No.20 MAC constituency Singhason -86%.   And under Bokajan sub-division, the poll percentage is 80.26 %. Constituency wise poll percentage turns out in Bokajan sub-division are: No.17 MAC constituency Socheng Dhenta -77.72%, No.21MAC constituency Borjan -77.05%, No.22 MAC constituency Sarupathar -84.58%, No.23 MAC constituency Bokajan -78.97%, No. 24 MAC constituency Deopani -82.68%, No.25 MAC constituency Nilp -80.46% No.26 MAC constituency Duarbagori -88.22%.   The previous year voting was schedule to 7 AM and ended by 4 PM however this time the voting time started from 8 AM. Due to continuous rainfall fewer voters were seen in Dhansiri area in the morning hour. But in the afternoon voters came out from their home and cast their valuable votes despite of the bad weather which makes more queue in every polling station. However it was reported that in some polling stations D-voter were detected in Diphu area and proxy votes were given some places. Despite of all odds, the election was conducted peacefully without any untoward incidents happened in the region, report stated.
