Dimapur, Feb. 9 (EMN): Seven aspirants have on Fri. withdrawn their candidature from contesting in the forthcoming Nagaland assembly elections scheduled for Feb. 27.
Out of the seven, six were independent candidates, and one from the Congress. Three of the withdrawals were from Kohima district; two each from Longleng and Tuensang district.
“Out of 226 validly nominated candidates for the upcoming general election in Nagaland, seven candidates withdrew their candidature as on 9th February, 2018. The last date of withdrawal of candidature is on 12th February, 2018,” informed a press release from the chief election officer, Nagaland.
