64-year-old man accused of raping minor
Dimapur, April 10 (EMN): A 64-year-old man from Wokha town has been accused of raping a minor girl on April 8 last. The accused person has been reported as an employee of the department of Forest, Wokha division.
A First Information Report (FIR) filed at Wokha police station has identified the accused person as one Nsemo Ngullie, of Moilan village and a permanent resident of Forest colony, Wokha town.
He has been accused of raping an 11-year-old girl on April 8 last. The accused person was arrested on April 9 last by Wokha police.
According to a joint representation from Forest colony council, Wokha town and Forest colony eloe hoho, Wokha town, submitted to Wokha police, the incident came to light only in the evening after which the two organisations held a meeting at around 2 pm and decided to lodge an FIR.
“But before the meeting was held, the police has (sic) arrested the culprit and taken him to the police station,” it informed.
While acknowledging the prompt action of Wokha police, the two organisations have requested the authorities concerned to “award befitting punishment as per law” to the accused.
