DIMAPUR — BZ Entertainment, a drama and film society, is organising a 60-show street play tour in collaboration with the Nagaland State Aids Control Society (NSACS) to raise HIV awareness in Nagaland.
The initiative, according to a press release, aims to educate communities across the state about HIV transmission, prevention, testing, and the critical need to combat stigma and discrimination.
On November 17, the first show was held in Dimapur, marking the start of a tour that would take them to six districts: Dimapur, Kohima, Kiphire, Peren, Tuensang, and Noklak. BZ Entertainment intends to deliver ten street plays in each district.
The plays weave together important facts about HIV, emphasising its routes of transmission and the role of testing.
The NSACS mobile integrated counselling and testing centre (MICTC) team provides free HIV blood tests and counselling services following each performance.
