6 candidates in fray for Diphu Parliamentary Constituency in Assam

DIPHU — As the last date for withdrawal of candidature ended on Monday, it is now clear that five candidates will fight from 6 Diphu Parliamentary Constituency in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The 6 Diphu Parliamentary Constituency in Assam will go to polls on April 26.

The five candidates in the fray are Joyram Engleng from Indian National Congress (INC), Amarsing Tisso from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Jotson Bey from Autonomous State Demand Committee (ASDC), John Bernard Sangma from Gana Suraksha Party and Independent candidate JI Kathar backed by All Party Hills Leaders Conference (APHLC).

A total of six candidates had filed their nomination papers but APHLC-backed Independent candidate Bikram Hanse, withdrew his candidature.
