Tiarenla, leader of the opposition team, said in her remark that an oppositionless government in Nagaland is needed in order to avoid conflict among the diverse tribes, cultures, and traditions.
She pointed out that village councils can be a medium through which issues can be voiced for the people. She also commented that Nagaland state has many social issues and problems, and therefore, to remove rivalries and promote unity, an oppositionless government is essential.
Speaking for the motion, Asensor Jamir, the leader of the team, said that the oppositionless government in Nagaland is a failed experiment that should be done away with since it is not working and seems pointless.
He remarked that the present oppositionless government is more powerful than ever, but there is a lack of progress and change in the state, and the lack of action speaks volumes as to why an oppositionless government is a mockery of democracy.
The second day of the event will include a quiz competition, FAC Roadie, still life sketching, and an upcycled fashion show, as well as a presentation from Amoklushi Girls Hostel.
