DIMAPUR — Union Minister of DoNER, Tourism and Culture, Kishan Reddy, virtually inaugurated the state-of-the-art 5G training lab on Friday at Tech City, Guwahati.
North Eastern Council (NEC) funded the project titled “5G applications in NER with a hub at Amtron, Guwahati,” which was executed through AMTRON, a PSU of Assam Government, in coordination with support given by the Department of Telecommunications, Government of India, an update stated.
In this project, NEC has funded the deployment of the 5G use cases across all states of the North Eastern Region. A total of eight 5G training labs have already been deployed in the eight states, which were also inaugurated simultaneously.
In Nagaland, Immanuel College, Dimapur, the 5G training lab is the first and the only one in the state.
“The inauguration of its state-of-the-art 5G training lab indicates a significant milestone in the field of technology education. The new 5G training lab is equipped with the latest industry-standard equipment, making it an ideal hub for students to gain hands-on experience with 5G technology.
“The lab will serve as a focal point for research, innovation, and training in the burgeoning field of 5G technology,” it stated.
