Kohima, June 29 (EMN): A total of 5783 persons, including inter-state travellers and inter-district travellers were screened till June 29 at the local ground, Kohima. The screening officially started on May 5 and it will continue till the government authorities decide to stop it.

This was informed by Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC) Kevingoto Kulnu on Monday.

The EAC informed that in the past seven days, an average of 30-40 persons come daily daily for screening. The number for inter-state travellers is gradually decreasing of late but there is still flow of people for screening, he stated, adding that the number of inter-district travellers coming for screening and getting medical certificate is constant.

Kulnu informed that inter-district travellers come for screening as some villages and colonies insist on producing medical certificate, and to apply for movement permit which is issued from the DC office. He had informed earlier that most inter-state travellers arrange their own transportation and come only for screening and movement permit from the officials at the local ground in Kohima. He added that their duty of screening and issuing movement permit would continue till they receive a new order from the higher authorities.
