564 students receive first dose of Covaxin in Diphu

Diphu, Jan. 4 (EMN): Altogether 564 students received first dose of Covaxin Covid vaccination, while another nine students completed their second dose of vaccination during the district-level launching of Covid vaccination drive for 15 to 18 age group held at Diphu Govt. Boys HS School on January 3.

The vaccination drive is organised by District Administration, District Health Society and Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC). 

Launching the vaccination drive, the Chief Executive Member (CEM), KAAC, Tuliram Ronghang said the the vaccination will be free for the 15 to 18 age group. During the week-long vaccination drive, it will reach out to all ME schools, high schools and colleges in Karbi Anglong so that students in age bracket get vaccinated. It is a joint effort of Health and Family Welfare department, District Administration and KAAC, the CEM said.

According to data received from Health and Family Welfare at Diphu Govt. Boys HS School, 350 students received first dose Covaxin Covid vaccination; 39 students at Diphu Govt. Girls High school; 36 students at Diphu Govt. College; 66 students at DAV HS School and 73 students at Renu Terangpi Memorial College.
