KOHIMA — The fourth edition of the Rüsoma Orange Festival, themed "Organic Orange," is scheduled to begin at 10 am on January 24 at the Rüsoma local ground in Kohima.
The event will span two days and feature musical performances, diverse cuisines, art and handicrafts, organically grown agricultural and horticultural products, and various other activities.
Spokespersons for the festival, Kekhrie Pfukha and Khriezotuolie Chase, along with Ketouvilie Bier, a collaborator with the farming community, announced on Monday that Salhoutuonuo Kruse, Minister of Women Resources Development and Horticulture, would be attending the inaugural ceremony.
According to them, the festival remains a unifying force, bringing the community together in joyous celebration and expressed readiness to exhibit the village's rich cultural heritage and abundant harvest.
Highlighting the prominence of oranges in the village, it was informed that the festival is a tribute to the agricultural prowess, unity, and resilience of the community.
The event is set to bring together farmers, entrepreneurs, and community members, showcasing a diverse range of orange products, from fresh produce to juices, jams, and other value-added items.
Extending an invitation to all to join the much-anticipated celebration, the organisers announced that the festivities will draw to a close on January 25.
