4th Hornbill shooting competition concludes

Dimapur, Dec. 5 (EMN): The 4th Hornbill shooting competition was conducted in the Nagaland Shooting Sports Association (NSSA) shooting complex from December 2nd to the 5th at the Multi Disciplinary Sports Complex, Dimapur. 

An update stated on the first day, registration and pre-event training were conducted. On the second day, Neiphiu Rio, Chief Minister of Nagaland declared the competition open after inaugurating the shooting complex.

A total of 109 participants were registered for the three competition events of 10 M Air Pistol, 10 M Air Rifle and 50 M Prone (.22 Cal) for men and women’s category.

A new entry to the competition was from the Nagaland Police Rifle Club (NPRC), a club directly affiliated to the NSSA.

The winners of each event received a cash prize of INR 30,000 for first place, INR 20,000 for second place and INR 10,000 for third place, with citations.

In 10 air rifle (women), R Elia Rhakho, Nipatoli Shohe and Yile Haikam won the first, second and third positions respectively.

In 10 air pistol (women), Yile Haikam, Shehthsangla and Toshila Yimchunger won the first, second and third prizes respectively.

In 50M prone .22 cal (women), R Elia Rhakho won the first place, Nipatoli Shohe second and Shehthsangla third.

In 10 air rifle (men), Michael Rhakho, Megunsetuo Thakro and Neizo Belho won first, second and third positions respectively.

In 10 air pistol (men), Neizo Belho, Israel G Xuivi and Rouvio Kense won the first, second and third place respectively.

In 50M prone .22 cal (men), Neizo Belho won first place, Menuobeilie Yiese second, and Chubatoshi Ao third.
