Elite Entertainment Enterprise (3E) has announced that the 4th Hornbill Half Marathon will be held on December 7 as part of the Hornbill festival of Nagaland.
The marathon is being supported by Tourism Department, said 3E Managing Director Kethosituo Mepfhüo during a press conference held at Dolphin Club office, L. Khel Kohima Village last night.
The competitive event has two categories Half Marathon (Men & Women) covering 21 kms while Great Hornbill Run for Boys & Girls will cover 11.9 kms.A total cash prize of Rs. 3,40,000 has been earmarked for Half Marathon for Men and Women with Rs. 50000 for each for first position, Rs. 30000 each for second, Rs. 20000 each for third and Rs. 20000 each for fourth.
The winners of Great Hornbill Run (11.9 Km for students of Class 8 & below) for both boys and girls will receive prizes as follows: 1st – Rs. 20000 each, 2nd – Rs. 15000 each, 3rd – Rs.10000 each, 4th – Rs. 5000each while remaining six winners upto No. 10 will get Rs. 2000 each, he said.
The MD also informed that Rs. 20 will be charged for registration forms while entry fee for Half Marathon is Rs. 300, Great Hornbill Run – Rs. 100.
The marathon this year will also special participative lap for persons with special needs with a view to include everyone in celebrating Hornbill Festival. This lap will be held under the theme ‘Championing Disability’ and route will be to and fro New Secretariat road. The race type is Open (Run, walk, wheelchair, etc.) while participants would provided with gift hampers and certificates. No entry fee will charged for the participants of special lap, he said.
He informed that registration forms for interested participants would be made available from November 1 (Saturday) at the followings outlets: Youth Snooker Café & Restaurant, Near Petrol Pump, Jalukie, Peren; Techsuffort Enterprises, Computer Sales & Mobile Servicing, Shop No. 69, New Shopping Complex, Mokokchung; Awesome Print Station, Near Clock Tower, Tuensang; Sports World, Old Taxi Stand, Kohima; Uniform House, Centre point, Project Colony, Zunheboto; Universal Sports, Church Road, Dimapur; M/S Mrs Sentile Kath, Grocery Shop, Near SBI, Tseminyu Town; Scholar, Phek Village Community Building, Bethany – 2 Colony, Phek Town; Life Centre, Near Co-operative Bank, Pfutsero Town; Hornbill Hotel, Wokha; Basic Gift & Stationery, Sharon Complex, Chumukedima and 3E Office, Dzevi Building, 2nd Floor, Opp. UBC, Near Kohima Local Ground North Gate.
The last date of submission of forms is November 29, he informed.
