49th session of NSU held in Kohima

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he 49th annual day of Nerhema Students’ Union (NSU) was held today at Indoor Stadium Chiephobozou Town with Director of New & Renewable Energy, T.S. Angami as the chief guest.
Addressing the gathering, Angami called upon the student community to set their future target and work hard towards achieving while being students.
He said, as students they should give their best for a better and brighter future while also appealing that they should try to live up to the motto of NSU: ‘Learn to Master.’
He said that gaining knowledge alone through education would not be of much help in this competitive world but the youngsters should pursue to achieve specific target in life.He also maintained that the upcoming golden jubilee conference of NSU should not be mere celebration but the Union should set up a committee and evolve a corpus fund to support the students from the poor background. He also encouraged NSU to organise seminar on career guidance for the students of Nerhema village.
Stating that the Northern Angami-II A/C is fortunate to have three elected representatives in the form of MP Lok Sabha Neiphiu Rio, Parliamentary Secretary Zhaleo Rio and MLA Dr. Neiphrezo Keditsu, he opined that the area people should try to make use of their leadership towards better uplift of the constituency.
Delivering the NSU presidential address, Selabeituo Theünuo said that during the year 41 students passed HSLC, 21 graduated while six completed post graduation from the village. Assistant general secretary Kevizonuo Chadi presented the secretarial report.
Chiephobozou Town Council Chairman, Visakuolie Kiewhuo shared greetings while Convenor Jubilee Steering Committee, Neiphrezolie Semou shared on golden jubilee celebration of the Union, which will be held next year.
NSU general secretary, Petekhrietuo Kiewhuo chaired the programme while Senior Pastor, Cross Wonder Church Kohima, Ketou Theünuo pronounced the invocation. Chiephobozou Town BKK Choir presented a special number.
On the occasion, students clearing HSLC and graduation exams were honoured with citations while Vitho Society Award for securing top position in HSLC within NSU went to Sedevinuo Kezie. HSLC 2014 Music Award recipient Kezevinuo Üsuo also entertained the gathering with piano recital. Statistical Secretary, Keduoneisa Mere tendered the vote of thanks.
Meanwhile, during quiz competition, Medochütuo Kiewhuo and Ruovikuo Kerhuo from Cüzie Rüho Khel bagged the first position and Medorielie Semou and Pelevonuo Vimerha from Thepa Khel were placed second. Medochütuo Kiewhuo bagged the individual award in the competition.
