DIMAPUR — A total of 49 new street vendors in Dimapur have registered under Prime Minister Street Vendors’ Atmanirbhar Nidhi (PMSVA Nidhi) scheme out of which 37 have applied for PMSVA Nidhi loan during an awareness campaign held on August 25.

The awareness campaign was organised by State Bank of India (SBI), RBO, in collaboration with Dimapur District Urban Development Agency (DUDA) and Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) at SBI regional office, Naga Shopping Arcade.

According to a DIPR report, the aim of the campaign was to raise awareness among street vendors about the benefits of PMSVA Nidhi scheme, mobilise new applications and promote the adoption of digital transactions among street vendors. It added that a total of 49 new street vendors were registered out of which 37 applied for PM SVA Nidhi loan during the campaign.

It mentioned that PMSVA Nidhi, a fully funded scheme by Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, is a special micro-credit scheme launched in June, 2020. The scheme provides a working capital loan of upto INR 10,000 of one year tenure to help street vendors restart their business post-COVID-19 lockdown and also promotes financial inclusion by offering credit at affordable interest rates.
