Dimapur, Feb. 8 (EMN): All the nominations filed by candidates for ten assembly constituencies in Mokokchung district have been scrutinized Feb. 8 and have been found to be valid, updates from the IPR informed on Thur.
Reports received from returning officers said that all the nomination papers filed on the last day of the filing of nomination on Feb. 7 were found valid, the updates stated.
Scrutiny of the nomination papers was undertaken by returning officers in four places namely Mokokchung town, Mangkolemba, Tuli, and Changtongya.
Altogether 48 including stand-by candidates have filed their nomination papers from ten assembly constituencies, the IPR stated. The constituency with the highest number of candidates was from 21st Tuli and 24th Angetyongpang assembly constituencies with eight each, the updates said. The last date for withdrawal of candidature is Feb. 12, it added.
