46th Li-Ning State Badminton Championship ends
WOKHA — The 46th Li-Ning State Badminton Championship concluded on October 12 at the Indoor Badminton Stadium in Wokha, with Dr. Chumben Murry, Advisor to the Chief Minister, as the special guest at the closing ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Murry lauded parents for their support and encouraged young players to pursue badminton professionally.
He also announced the construction of a new multipurpose hall in Wokha and assured that it will help develop more badminton players from the district.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of prizes.
The two-day tournament in which different districts participated featured men’s doubles events for ages 55, 50, 45, 40, and 35, as well as Under-17, Under-15, Under-13, and Under-11 categories for both boys and girls in singles and doubles formats. The championship also included an Under-9 boys’ singles category.
