Dimapur, Sep. 17 (EMN): A total of 46 people with disabilities (PwD) in Mokokchung received assistive devices during a distribution programme held in the conference hall of the ADC (Planning), Mokokchung, on September 17.
According to a DIPR report, distribution of aids and assistive devices was organised under the ADIP (Assistance to Disabled Persons) scheme, an initiative of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan).
It stated that the assistive devices were given away by the deputy commissioner of Mokokchung, Shashank Pratap Singh, in the presence of parents and other officials.
It informed that during the assessment from July 5 to the 8th, a total of 92 persons with disabilities and 668 senior citizens (Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana) were identified in Mokokchung district.
It further informed that distribution of aids and assistive devices in the sub-divisions would be conducted in the coming days, which would be informed by the respective administrative officers.
