EMN Dimapur, January 30 The Nagaland Olympic Association in conjunction with the State Youth Resources and Sports Department is sending 42 members contingent to take part in 35th National Games which will kick off on January 31 at Trivandrum. The state contingents will take part in archery, athletics, boxing, shooting, wrestling and yachting. Tali Jamir, State Coach is heading the state contingent as Chef De Mission who will headquarter at Trivandrum. He will be assisted by two Deputy Chef De Mission, Nizheto Awomi, Assistant Director of YRS to be stationed at Kochi and Nyuvitho Nyuthe, DSO Dimapur be stationed at Thrissur as the events are spread over 7 districts with the extreme separation by more the 400 kms from end to end venues.Sepaktakreaw, the state medal winning events in the last two National Games, although qualified in both men and women events is unfortunately excluded from the 35th National Games on the premise that it is not an Olympic sports discipline. The unexpected surprised participation is in yachting events where Imolemnok Longkumer from Indian Navy has been allowed token entry from the Home State Olympic Association by the Yachting Federation. As the State does not have any Y- boat we have advised him to make his own personal arrangement of the Y-boat where we are expected to receive good gestures from the Indian Navy itself.
