41st LTM general conference held

The 41st general conference of Langpangkong Tzükong Mundang (LTM) was held at Longkong village from January 8-9. It was attended by around 200 delegates from in and around of Langpangkong range under the theme, “Advancement through Unity.”
Chuba Ozüküm, Administrative Officer, Law and Justice and K. Temjen Jamir, Editor Tir Yimyim, Dimapur addressed the conference.
Ozüküm, stated that creed, selfishness and hypocrisy are the biggest disease that we are facing today and this is the reason for the gap in our society. He urged the people to uproot it from the grassroots level, then only advancement through unity can be achieved. He also asserted that the area in which have interest and talent is only way to explore the untouched area where the society needs the most for advancement.Further, Ozüküm opined that to race with rest of the world in advancement, we should not copy or try to do what others are doing but to do differently with vision for the people and the society. Quoting, “Winners don’t do different things but they do differently.”
On the second day of the conference, speaker K. Temjen Jamir said, “in this wealth treasuring era” quality education in the right field is only way to co-exist with the comparative world, while encouraging to form Parent Association in the villages to promote the government schools and teachers and students’ for quality education system.
He also said, in order to developed and prospers the range community the most important fundamentals element needs in order success is Health. He also called the house to formed Health Task force for the uplift and better facilities for Community Health Center and Primary Health Center for the people in the area.
Jamir, also encouraged the range people to start agro farming project, since everything start with agriculture. And to use the different agricultural technology facilities provided these day like contract farming in large scale which will benefit the people and increase the local economy. But inorder to do such a works he maintains that range community need think tank to initiate the plans.
Meanwhile, Ao Senden president Professor Sangyu Yaden lamented that the Nagas are modernized but still to be civilize and addiction to corruption, laziness and religion without sacrifice. However, he pointed that by identifying our weakness and reformation is the way to come out from the cocoon we have made. He also said important potentiality and criterion is the need of the hour.
The Guest of Honour, Amenba Yaden, MLA & Chairman Nagaland Bamboo development Agency & Nagaland pollution Control Board and Nuklutoshi Lkr, Minister for National highway Mechanical & Soil and Water Conservation, who could not attend the conference due to political situation of the state, also conveyed his message through a letters.
The programmed was commence with a prayer from the pastor of Longkong Baptist Church, while short speeches were delivered by Bendang Lkr, OSD industries & Commerce, Kohima and S. Imti, Chairman Longkong Village Council.
