41 suspected dengue cases admitted to District Hospital Mon in Nagaland

DIMAPUR — As many as 41 patients were tested positive for dengue via rapid diagnostic test (RDT) on Thursday, September 21, and they have been admitted to District Hospital Mon.

Dr. Ritu Thurr, Principal Director of Health and Family Welfare department, told Eastern Mirror that a total of 141 patients have been admitted to District Hospital Mon, out of which 41 are suspected to be dengue cases.

He said all the dengue patients are in stable condition and no patient has been admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) as of Thursday.

Thurr went on to inform that, till date, a total of 63 dengue cases had been confirmed officially in Mon district through the Elisa test and that the outbreak of the disease in the district is currently under control.

However, he pointed out that addressing this health crisis would prove to be very difficult without active community participation.

The principal director also said that four medical officers, 10 nurses, and five lab technicians have joined the district hospital workforce to combat the dengue and scrub typhus outbreaks in the district.
