Dimapur, Jan. 28 (EMN): Two more positive Covid-19 cases were detected on Wednesday taking the state’s tally to 124326.
This was informed by the Minister for Health and Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom in a Twitter update.
“2 +ve cases of #COVID-19 have been detected today. Dimapur- Kohima- 1 each,” he tweeted.
The minster also informed that 40 patients had recovered, 34 in Kohima and six in Dimapur.
According to the information provided by the Health department, there are 57 active cases and 11796 recoveries till date.
Dimapur has the highest number of cases with 32, followed by Kohima with 13, Mokokchung has eight, Peren and Tuensang have two each, while the remaining districts have zero cases.
A total of 570 healthcare workers were vaccinated across the state on Wednesday, taking total number of vaccinated people to 5773 in Nagaland till date.
The Covid-19 vaccination drive was carried out in 20 sites in 11 districts of Nagaland, according to an update from the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare on January 27.
The district-wise break up of people who have been vaccinated is: Kohima-1054, Dimapur-1114, Mokokchung-706, Mon-542, Zunheboto-488, Phek-476, Wokha-458, Peren-344, Tuensang-335, Longleng-132, and Kiphire-124.
In view of the Polio National Immunisation Day scheduled in coming days, Covid-19 vaccination drive will not be conducted for the coming Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, it informed.
In a separate update, State Health Secretary Amardeep Singh Bhatia informed that the state task force meeting convened on Jan. 28 would review the Covid-19 vaccination and the upcoming National Immunisation Day (NID) for Polio.
It may be mentioned that the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has allocated the first three days of the week (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) for Covid -19 vaccination drive in the state so that normal routine immunisation and other essentials services are not hampered.
Earlier, Health officials informed that Covishield vaccine has gone through all phases of clinical trials and it has been found to be safe for use in general population.
More than 20 lakh health workers across the country have been vaccinated with Covaxin and Covishield.
