4 die, ten injured in road mishap at Leshemi

[caption id="attachment_211359" align="aligncenter" width="600"] A scene from the side of accident.[/caption] Our Correspondent Kohima, Oct. 8 (EMN): Four persons were killed, and ten others injured, near Leshemi village in Pfutsero subdivision of Phek district on Monday when the vehicle they were travelling in rolled off a steep slope at the Viswema-Kidima-Zuketsa NEC road. The vehicle, a mini pickup truck, was reported to have been dropping 13 farmers from Leshemi village to their respective farms when the accident occurred. While the Pfutsero and Phek police authorities could not be reached for details and the numbers listed on the official state police directory were outdated, it was the villagers who provided information that besides the four who died on the spot, the rest including the driver have been rushed to a government hospital in Kohima for treatment. One of the injured was said to be a woman. According to a Leshemi village elder, it was suspected that the accident occurred from technical failure but conclusions could not be drawn until the police conduct a thorough investigation. A joint funeral service for the four victims of the accident will be conducted in Leshemi village on Oct. 9 at 11 am.
